Rig of the Month by ulrikovThis month we're going to try for something different. Just recently, a friend of mine approached me and asked if I can get him a decent rig for rendering and multi-tasking for less than Php 30,000. I said to myself "Hey...this could go for my Rig of the Month".
And so, this is what I've come up with. Take a look below and check this out. PURPOSE - Multi-Tasking & Rendering
With a limited budget, we were able to come up with the necessary things needed for Rendering and Multi-tasking - multiple high clocked cores (3.2 Ghz) and high memory ratings (12gb). The Phenom II x4 840 is perfect for this job. It has a very high stock clock speed and certainly has better temp management but not as heavy on the pocket. Although this processor does not have the L3 cache, it will still see through the tasks with commendable results. 3 pieces of 4gb PQI DDR3 memory sticks certainly would go a long way for this setup (64bit OS is needed for this beast). Pinoy PC would have opted for the FX Quadro Video Cards but since it's a bit rare in these places nowadays, we decided on regular aftermarket consumer cards (Inno3D GT240 DDR5) would suffice for the time being. The March 2011 rig of the month is once again based on one of the rock solid motherboards in the market - the ECS black series motherboards. To give this rig a crystal clear view, we shelled out Acer S191HQL as its perfect display with its wide view angle, glossy look and high contrast ratio. To power this baby, PinoyPC decides to put a reputable power supply - the Silverstone STF-50ES...not much in terms of wattage but still does the job with stability. 4 cores at 3.2Ghz each, 12gb memory, and a stable system...Imagine all this under the 30,000 Pesos price tag... that's an awesome bargain! High clock speeds with multiple cores coupled with great memory numbers...now that's perfect for every multi-tasking and rendering job you're going to do. This setup is definitely a CERTIFIED : PVP (Performance, Value and Practicability)!! |
