ASRock, one of the company which was known to cater entry level motherboards before (as a subsidiary of ASUS), is currently getting ready to set out its proud motherboard which supports AMD's next level processor codenamed "Zambezi" Fusion Black CPUs. This motherboard will be known as the ASRock 890FX Deluxe5. This is equipped with the AMD 890FX + SB850 (as its southbridge) chipset.

The ASRock 890FX Deluxe5 is set to be released in the late parts of February 2011. Its processor socket will be the AMD's AM3r2 or a.k.a. AM3+. The AM3 socket will also be compatible with the existing AM3 processors such as the Athlon II and Phenom II. But more importantly, the AM3 socket will be ready to take on the most anticipated 8-core CPU that AMD will be planning to release this year.

This motherboard also features the different Crossfire technologies including AMD Quad Crossfire X, 2-way Crossfire X, and the 3-way setup. The ASRock 890FX Deluxe5 will have the standard 4 DDR3 memory slots, 2 PCI slots, 2 PCI Express x1 slots, one PCI Express x4 slot and 2 slots for PCI Express x16.

USB 3.0 will also be carried on by the Deluxe5, as well as SATA and IEEE 1394 ports consequently. 7.1 Channel HD Audio will be in the integrated audio. Apart from all these compartments, ASRock also placed a extraordinary feature into the paradigm - Enabling Turbo UCC. This feature is like the older version UCC wherein it tries to unlock the disabled cores of a processor however, that is only half of the job. This newer Turbo UCC also claims to instantly overclock CPU frequency, memory frequency and the voltage settings to higher levels. This feature will certainly be put to the test once this motherboard comes out in the open.

As for the price, there's no knowledge on how much this baby will cost our enthusiasts. One thing is certain though, this will be something that we'll have to look out for. AMD's 9 series chipsets will be coming out soon, so we may as well stay tuned for that one also.

Pinoy PC Computer Basics

With all the fuss of getting the most bang in the market, Sparkle has unveiled a new card with extraordinary features based on the Nvidia Geforce GTX 570 engine. This new model is overclocked-set in the factory. The Calibre X 570 is currently clocked at 772 MHz, which is around 5% faster than the stock settings of the original GTX 570. This model also has 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory at 4,212 MHz within a 320-bit interface. Sparkle revealed that this card has Accelero Xtreme cooling from Arctic and can run with less heat at full load as compared to its similar counterparts.

I recently purchased a backlight in CDO from technomart and I'd like to give a short review about it. The keyboard costs around P1095, but you can find it at P975 in TipidPC.

The keyboard is soft, but has a plastic-feel when typing. The material isn't as high grade compared to the ones used in Logitech G11 or Razer keyboard. No drivers required.

Fastwin Computers has made a reputation a few years back selling old surplus computer hardware. Now, they still sell surplus components but with added marketing on brand new components in their shops. A few months back they were able to open a new branch in the south at Gaisano Grand Fiesta Mall (formerly called Gaisano Tabunok).

Once again they're planning to open a new branch in Parkmall on the second floor, just across the bazaar area.Well, I know Fastwin is not exactly the best shop for local enthusiasts but they do offer other accessories and components (such as ink/cartridge replacements) which are not found in other stores, which I think should not be overlooked. And if you're cutting some slack, you could always get one of their surplus monitors which has low prices, while saving up for a brand new and bigger LED monitor.

Fastwin Parkmall may not be far from its main branch but this gives computer users from the Mactan Island and northern Cebu access to commendable computer hardware and accessories. This would definitely be a good place to go to if you want quick access on certain PC components especially if you're living near the area.
